Although Days Bakery and the building in Ashwell have been baking since 1741, we do not know if there may have been a bakery with a different name on the site before Days Bakery was founded.

In our 282-year-long history, we have had some legendary bakers, including Howard Day and head baker Clive. We still remember the last head baker who passed down the knowledge of how to make every item out of the bakery fresh and delicious.

From the original Bakery in Ashwell, Days Bakery has expanded to 12 bakeries across Hertfordshire, Essex, and Cambridgeshire. After COVID, we have added deli sections to most of our bakeries that sell a local selection of dairy, meats, and snacks.
