It's that special time of year again when we get to bring out the ancient tradition of baking Hot Cross Buns. With origins dating back to Good Friday, these buns have stood the test of time and continue to be a beloved treat on our tables.
MADE WITH
These delectable sweet buns are filled with fragrant spices, along with juicy fruits such as currants, raisins, and/or tangy candied citrus. To honor the crucifix, these buns are adorned with a pure white cross - lovingly marked onto the dough.
THE HISTORY
We can trace back the hot cross bun to a 12th-century monk, and other times it's a 14th-century monk from St Albans named Thomas Rocliffe. The so-called 'Alban Bun'.
